Located just one mile away southwest of the Bay Shore, Southward Ho Country Club delivers a private membership-owned golfing experience to its attendees. Its main pride is the 18-hole championship golf course designed by the renowned architect A.W. Tillinghast. The course is quite challenging, as it is laid out on the tightly-bunkered greens, and slopes must also be considered when planning where to land a hit.

As for the additional amenities, members of the club and their guests can enjoy 12 tennis courts at their disposal, as well as pickleball courts. A swimming pool facility is available year-round, and there is a summer day camp for children, where they will be entertained while you enjoy a game of golf.

The club offers the possibility of holding wedding celebrations, significant events and business meetings: for these purposes, the club has a banquet hall that can accommodate from 10 to 300 people.

Joining the club may be a little bit tricky though, as the information can be obtained only from the current members. Southward Ho maintains a reputation as a classic club with very strict rules, so in addition to the difficulty of getting a membership, you have to abide by a code of conduct (extends to the cellphone use and dress code mostly).
