Description
The history of Siwanoy Country Club started in 1901 with a relatively small 9-hole course (110 acres of land available in total), which was later enlarged and redesigned into the 18-hole layout by famous Donald Ross. What marks the high quality of this course is the fact that the PGA Championship has been hosted here in 1915 – a move which inspired the club’s owners to continue expansion and modernization of the course over the years, thereby securing its relevance for the next generation of players.
After a long day of golf, members can enjoy racquet sports which are available all year round: these include four Har-Tru tennis courts, two of which are under bubble from the fall through early spring and four paddle courts. A team of professional instructors is available for private lessons and group clinics, and you can purchase necessary equipment at the fully stocked Pro Shop. In addition to golf and tennis, members have access to a swimming pool in the summer season.
One of the interesting features is the Camp Siwanoy – a weekday summer day camp for children aged 3 years and older, which provides golf, tennis and swim instruction, as well as arts and crafts for the summer period of up to five weeks. You might want to consider it if you are looking for extracurricular activities for your children in the summer.
The club is private and membership-owned, meaning that you can join only upon receiving an invitation from an existing member – additional details can be found on the club’s website.
