The Oak Hill Country Club finds its pride in the fact that currently, it is the only establishment which has hosted three PGA Championships, three Unites States Open contests, the Ryder Cup and many more – the “resume” of this establishment is quite impressive indeed. And it is most natural to expect the finest services and golfing experience from a club with such a reputation – an expectation which The Oak Hills rightfully fulfils.
There are two courses at the Oak Hill Country Club – the West and the East, both 18-hole layouts designed by Donald Ross, both with distinctive features. The championship Eastern course with 7360 yards in length grabs the spotlight, as it served as a hosting ground for the majority of the club’s tournaments. But the Western course remained mostly untouched after its opening in 1926 and maintains Donald Ross’ original design – measuring 6723 yards from the back tees, it offers an authentic golfing experience. Usually, the golf season begins in late April and lasts till mid-September.
In respect of the traditions of the private clubs, memberships are by invitation only: an active member of the club must sponsor your candidacy to initiate the process.
