Yahnundasis Golf Club

The Yahnundasis (which translates as “around the hill”) Golf Club was established in 1897, so it has long celebrated its 100th anniversary. Started by a group of community leaders as a private club to enjoy “a few hours of tranquillity”, currently it is a 6,765-yard championship golf course, which was designed by famed architect and player Walter J. Travis. As someone who understood the game, he took a great effort to create a challenging 18-hole, par of 71 course integrated into the natural environment. The club website boldly states that it is “one of the most enjoyable, yet challenging courses in Central New York” – a statement which may be proved by the fact that recently club has held several events, including (but not limiting to) Syracuse Post Standard and League of the Iroquois.

The club is membership-owned and yet strives to support a friendly family environment by offering additional services to its members. You can enjoy excellent dining, a swimming pool, tennis courts or elegant banquet facilities, where you can hold a wedding celebration or a business meeting.

However, becoming a club member is another challenge, since you have to provide two references upon submitting your profile to the membership committee – definitely not something a casual player would want to go through for a single play of golf.
