Description
The Schuyler Meadows Club pays a lot of attention to history, as even its golf course was designed to mimic George Washington’s residency at Mount Vernon. The 6,900 yards layout was carefully designed by Devereux Emmet in 1927 (with some minor updates presented by Brian Silva and Bruce Hepner later on in the 2010-s) to achieve this goal, featuring 18 holes amid green scenery and a variety of bunkers – distinguishing features for which Emmet is known for.
However potential members might be surprised when they visit the club’s official website: there is not a lot of information to share there, which is typical for some classy private clubs. This can be explained by the fact that membership status can be obtained only via invitation from the present member of the club, so this establishment is certainly not aimed at bypasses and amateurs in the game of golf.
As for the members, in addition to golf, they can enjoy racquets sports at 7 har-tru tennis courts and 3 paddle courts. Driving range, practice putting green and short game practice facility are available for warm-ups and skill improvement. In the end, if you are tired of sports, you can enjoy your time at the large 25-meter L-shaped swimming pool.
