Ever since its establishment in 1923, the private Monroe Golf Club has been regarded as a premier-level establishment in the Rochester area. Such accolades are explained by the fact that one of the most famous – and perhaps impressive – courses designed by Donald Ross is located here, ranking as one of the top 100 classic golf courses by renowned Golfweek Magazine.

An 18-hole course is 6915 yards in length, with a slope of 130 and a rating of 73.5. Thousands of trees are planted along the route of the course, the fairways are neatly contoured, and the layout is complimented by rich green complexes, which makes it one of the “best pieces of ground for golf in Rochester”, as expressed by Tom Doak.

In addition to the main course, the club also has a Short 4-hole Course designed by Gil Hanse, which is perfect for introducing children to the game of golf, as well as practising your short-game skills. Moreover, the club’s Golf Professional team offers teaching programs for golfers of all ages and experience levels.

Golf is not the only thing you can enjoy at Monroe: members can play racquet games at 3 Har-Tru Tennis courts or 2 platforms (paddle) tennis courts, swim at the completion-size pool, and work out at the fitness centre or practice indoors using the virtual golf simulator.

The club offers Social and Golf types of memberships, but please note that applications must be sponsored by the current members.
